Written and recorded in Spain in 2005, Smack Dab[S][S]">R] is the collaboration of Steve Wynn[I], Paco Loco[I] and Linda Pitmon[I]. There are elements of 70’s soul, broken pop, trashy rock, post-punk danger, twisted surf and even a Vegas-tinged cover of 3 Dog Night’s “Never Been To Spain[S]” (a bald-faced lie, apparently) as well as Linda’s lead vocal star turn on the wistful Super 8[S].” Paco and Steve worked before on 2001’s Momento album and this record shares the ambitious, panoramic feel of that highly regarded record while grooving a little harder.
