Sweetness and Light US tour
Steve Wynn on the Tour : After both Rich and Armistead sadly announced that they would not be able to tour this Fall due to prior commitments (Rich with Tanya Donnelly, Armistead with Love Tractor) I was once again faced with the necessity to form a new band. but this time I figured "Why form a new band when I can form an old one" and came up with the perfect solution: a tour with my old friends Mark Walton and Robert Mache as part of a big Steve Wynn/Continental Drifters travelling circus roadshow. The actual band will be: STEVE WYNN--guitar, vocals ROBERT MACHE--guitar vocals PETER HOLSAPPLE --keyboards, vocals MARK WALTON--bass LINDA PITMON--drums, vocals It excites me just to look at that lineup. Holsapple (for those of you who don't know) was a member of the dBs (one of my favorite bands ever) and has toured with REM and Hootie and the Blowfish. I also expect onstage visits from other Drifters Vicki Peterson and Susan Cowsill who have both sang on "Dazzling Display" and "Fluorescent." The material will, of course, come from "Sweetness and Light" but will also involve a cross-section from all of other albums as well. expect a few surprises.
