Danny & Dusty The Lost Weekend (1985) |
|
The Lost Weekend ( 1985 ) is a colloboration between mainly Dan Stuart and Steve Wynn who has written all the songs, except for Knockin On Heavens Door by Dylan. They are backed at what could be called a supergroup, of people from the Paisley Underground[S]. Dan Stuart and Chris Cacavas from Green On Red, Sid Griffin & Tom Stevens of The Long Ryders, and Dennis Duck & Steve Wynn of Dream Syndicate.
Funny enough is the producer Paul B. Cutler, which at this time was in practice a member of Dream Syndicate. The music is very direct, and it seems like they songs have come easilly. It's obvious that the technical part that was not high ranked. A raw record that makes one dream of a further collaboration. Dan Stuart is no lnager active in Green On Red, so who knows.... Most memorable from this record is Baby, We All Gotta Go Down[S][S]">S]. A great sing along at concerts. Bend In The Road[S] does not appear on the album, but is released on a sampler. Danny & Dusty was reissued on CD in February 1996 by Prima Records, with Bend In The Road[S], as a bonus trrack and with sleeve notes by Steve Wynn. |
