Gutterball Gutterball (1993) |
|
Gutterball came out of nowhere, as a surprise (to me anyway). After the first two solo-albums, Steve Wynn returns to play in a band. Bryan Harvey and Johnny Hott from House Of Freaks, Stephen McCarthy of The Long Ryders and Bob Rupe of The Silos, make up these Traveling Wilburies of garage rock. Most of the tracks is written by Steve Wynn, with Bryan Harvey as co-writer. A nice track by McCarthy is included.
The sound is very live, begging you to turn up the volume. A proof that great music takes nothing but bass, 3 guitars, and a tape recorder :) The following live tour only confirmed the great sound and mood from the record, of a band enjoying playing music. Let your ears enjoy Lester Young[S]. Trial Separation Blues[S] was shot as a video. |
